Our Story
Six years ago I began screen printing tee shirts in my bedroom using old equipment gifted to me by my neighbour. From the beginning, this act of kindness & community inspired our very first “Friendly” collection.
Since then, we’ve had the privilige of taking our little booth all the way across Canada, meeting tens-of-thousands of the people who inspire our products. In all this time two things remain the same - my hope with every design is still to celebrate some aspect of the amazing community we all have the privilige of sharing, and I still pull every single screen print myself, by hand.
What we do
Our designs begin with a hand drawn pen illustration, inspired by some element of Canadiana we want to celebrate. Drawings are digitized, and turned into final designs & prepared for print.
We carry out every step of the screen printing process the old school way, in our shop: creating positives, exposing & burning designs to create our own screens, & hand pulling ink for every single registration.
Why we do it
Our goal has always been to create designs that celebrate our favourite aspects of Canadiana. Whether it is our icons series, celebrating our team's hometowns of Calgary & Winnipeg, our Pierogie Series celebrating our Polish heritage, or our namesake Honey Dill series, celebrating Winnipeg's greatest cultural export - Honey Dill Sauce.
We hope to create designs that get people excited to share their favourite things – & we consider it bonus points to hear 'wow, I can't believe they made a shirt about that'.
